Every project starts somewhere. For Callander Area Men’s Shed, one of the most important early steps has been finding a place where the shed can begin to take shape.
Callander Golf Club has kindly agreed that we can use part of their area to place our container. The container itself has been donated by Kings Construction of Doune, and we are very grateful to both organisations for their support.
We have applied for planning permission and are hopeful that it will be approved. Once that is in place, the real work can start: doing up the container, arranging power, and turning it into a practical base for the shed.
The golf club has also kindly said we can use their clubhouse for members’ meetings, giving us somewhere warm, dry, and with facilities while the container project develops.

In return, we hope to help the golf club with various projects, including creating and maintaining paths to encourage families and walkers to visit, and building wildlife features to support local wildlife such as the red squirrels in the area.
Still early days, but every shed has to start somewhere and we are closer than ever to having a place to meet and start a real community.
