We are pleased to say that the Callander Area Men’s Shed website is now live at callandershed.org.
It gives us a central place to share news, meeting plans, project updates, donation information, and useful links as the shed takes shape. Thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far.
We are also working on online donations, so people will soon be able to support the shed by debit or credit card through the website. Alongside that, we are preparing charity collection boxes that could be placed in local shops and other suitable community locations.
There is no further news yet on planning permission for the container, but we do have some good news from Callander Golf Club. They have kindly given us the green light to use the clubhouse for men’s shed meetings, and we plan to organise one there soon. We will share the details once the date is confirmed.
Callander Golf Club have also shared a short presentation showing some of the initial projects they are planning around the clubhouse and course. It gives a useful picture of the sort of practical community work we hope the shed can help with as we get going.
Our first practical project is expected to be helping the golf club remove a section of hedge so they can get started on a new path they are adding.
When we have insurance in place we’ll post again with an update and a date and time when members could come along and help.
It is a small first step, but it’s making a start on friendly, community-minded work we hope the shed can support as it grows.
